What are the latest NFWV features?
Export your search results into an Excel document
If you have run a search, as long as your search results are 1,500 results and under, you can export your results into an Excel document so that you can analyse them offline and filter and sort using Excel.

Further categorise your projects with labels
We are able to apply ‘labels’ at bulk ingest of project data, to provide more description to projects and an anchor point to search for. For example, we can add a ‘reseal’ label to all reseal projects coming from RAMM, so that you can distinguish this project type from other transport projects. You can search for projects using labels, and create watchlists from the search criteria. In the future we will look to add label filters on the map.
Currently the labels we have are: reseal / rehab / resilience. So that the list does not grow too many unnecessary legs, label suggestions/requests will need to go through Support Desk. If you have projects you’d like to add a label to – let us know.

Easily view project details for clashes and opportunities from your dashboard
When you visit your dashboard to open a watchlist or a Transport Disruption Assessment report – you will now see little drop down arrows beside the number of clashes and opportunities listed beside each project. Clicking on the drop down for each will bring up a table with the details of each project that is causing the clash or opportunity. This gives you easier access to details of what’s affecting your projects, without having to click away and return to your dashboard multiple times.

Improvements to stage workflow
We have noticed that more and more users are creating projects with stages, but the workflow is a bit cumbersome so we’ve made some improvements. We have changed the way stages are displayed on the stage tab. Stages which have passed their end date will turn grey and move to the bottom of the page, whilst stages which remain in progress and planned will remain white and at the top of the list.

Improvements to user offboarding for security purposes
We have introduced improved user offboarding. If you do not log into the Forward Works Viewer for a period of six months, you’ll receive an email to prompt you to log in to the system. If you do not log in within the month after the email is sent, your user account will be deactivated. If your account is deactivated, that’s all good – you can just sign up for an account again. Please note that if your account is deactivated you’ll lose any saved searches, saved search watchlists, TDA reports or bookmarked projects.

External URLs for FWV projects so you can link the FWV page to your project management source of truth
We are creating a URL template which organisations will be able to pre-emptively generate so that you can include the URL for the FWV project summary page in your systems of record. This will enable users to click on the URL in your project management system and be taken to the matching project summary page in the FWV – making it much easier for users to find their project in the FWV and do clash and context checking.
