What is the Transport Disruption Assessment (TDA)?
This is a button next to the clashes and opportunities buttons on your project pages, which helps you to quickly check how many transport services your project intersects with. This makes it easier for Project Managers to understand how their projects are potentially impacting the transport network, and gives Road Controlling Authorities (RCAs) a heads-up on potentially disruptive projects in their jurisdiction.
How do I use it?
The TDA button shows a number – this is how many layers you’re intersecting with.
If you click the button you can see which transport layers your project might impact, such as a bus route or arterial road. If your project does intersect with something, this means you might disrupt a service. This is your signal to check in with your Road Controlling Authority (RCA), or public transport operators.
What if the TDA button says zero?
This means there are no direct impacts, but it’s still worth checking the contextual layers (using the layers icon in the left-hand menu, and then selecting your region in the drop-down under ‘Contextual Layers’). This allows you to manually check what’s happening around your project.
What if the TDA button says ‘No Data’?
This means we don’t have the transport layer data available for your RCA area just yet. Hang tight – we’re working to get this rolled out wider, at the request of RCAs.
